Crunchy Cheesy Tuna Bites
These tuna bites are so cheesy and crunchy, they will be your next go to tuna recipe to make. They are gluten-free due to the gf panko breadcrumbs and can be made dairy free with a dairy free cheese substitute. Kids absolutely love these because they are crunchy and what kid does not like crunchy food. If you air fry these, make sure to spray them lightly with avocado oil spray. Pair these with tartar sauce, ketchup or just as is. Enjoy!

these cheesy, crunchy tuna bites are going to have you keep coming back for more. They are gluten-free and so simple to make. My kids loves these!
Ingredients
- 2 cans albacore tuna
- 1 egg
- 1/2 cup mashed potato, left over or you’ll need to boil 1 large or 2 small potatoes until soft and mash it up.
- 1/3 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- Good pinch of salt
- Few cracks of black pepper
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp dried dill
- 1/2 cup panko bread crumbs, I am using gluten free ones here
- Avocado oil for frying
Instructions
- To a bowl, add the tuna, egg, mashed potato, cheese, spices, and give it a good mix.
- Line some parchment paper down and scoop the tuna bites into your hand making 14-15 equal size tuna bites.
- Add panko breadcrumbs to a bowl, coat each tuna bite generously with the crumbs and lay them back down onto the parchment paper.
- To a large pan, add a good amount of avocado oil and get it hot on medium heat.
- Add all of the tuna bites in the hot oil. Fry on each side about 3-4 minute until golden, brown, and crunchy. Avoid turning them around too much. Try to get them golden on all surfaces. Be gentle when flipping.
- Pair these with ketchup, tartar sauce, or just have them as is. Store in the fridge up to three days. Heat them up if as needed but their also good cold!
