Yield: 4 Bagels
Prep time: 7 MinCook time: 5 MinTotal time: 12 Min
These bagels are made with three simple ingredients. They are cheesy, doughy, and perfect with chive and onion cream cheese.
Ingredients
- 1 cup gluten free all-purpose self rising flour (see below)
- 1 cup low fat or regular cottage cheese
- 1 cup shredded asiago cheese
GF Self Rising Flour
- 1 cup gf all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
Chive and Onion Cream Cheese
- Plain cream cheese
- Fresh chives, chopped
- Onion powder to taste. Depending on how much cream cheese you are using here. About 1/4 tsp for 1 bagel.
Instructions
- In a mixer, blend cottage cheese until smooth.
- To a large bowl, add 1 cup of gf self rising flour along with a cup of the blended cottage cheese. Mix the batter until crumbly, then flour your hands and the working surface and start to work the dough until flour and cottage cheese are all combined and you can make a smooth ball shape. It is important to know that the dough will be very sticky at first. Make sure to flour the surface and the dough as you go.
- Form a ball shape then slightly flatten the middle but not all the way through. Just make a little well. Add asiago cheese in each center and then spray with avocado oil.
- Preheat air fryer to 350F for at least 5 minutes.
- Place bagels into the preheated air fryer. Do not overcrowd the pan. Leave room between each bagel because they do get a bit larger.
- Air fryer at 350F for 5 minutes or until golden brown.
- To make chive and onion cream cheese, just combine plain cream cheese with chopped chives and onion powder. Enjoy!
