Air Fryer Cinnamon Roll Custard Toast

The viral costard toast is an easy breakfast or snack that is so quick to make.

Ingredients

  • 2 pieces of bread. I am using French bread.
  • 1 egg
  • 3 tbsp plain greek yogurt
  • 1 tsp pure maple syrup
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
Cinnamon Sugar Slurry
  • 2 tbsp coconut sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • touch of water

Instructions

  1. To start, preheat air fryer at 350F for 5 minutes.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together egg, yogurt, maple syrup, and vanilla. Whisk until smooth.
  3. Make cinnamon sugar slurry by combining coconut sugar, cinnamon, and water until a thin runny slurry forms. Add a small amount of water at a time. You need a pourable thin consistency here.
  4. To the bread, press down the center with the pads of your fingers to make a well.
  5. Pour custard in the center of the bread. Add swirls of cinnamon sugar slurry and carefully transfer to the air fryer. *You can also do the above steps directly in the air fryer basket to avoid spilling the custard over when transferring into the air fryer basket.
  6. Air fry at 350F for 5 minutes or until edges are golden and the custard has set. You can also bake this at 400F for 10-15 min in the oven.
  7. I like to add powdered sugar and enjoy!
