Baked Pearl Couscous Mac

This super creamy, cheesy, and crunchy baked Mac and cheese is a weekly staples. It's so simple and perfect for the entire family.
Ingredients
- 1 cup pearl couscous
- 1 1/2 cups water
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1/4 cup milk (additional)
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 2 tablespoons melted butter (for breadcrumbs)
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Cook the pearl couscous in water according to package instructions.
- Once the couscous is cooked, reduce the heat to low and stir in the butter, shredded cheddar cheese, Parmesan cheese, and additional milk.
- Stir continuously until the cheese is melted and the mixture is creamy.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Transfer the couscous and cheese mixture to a greased baking dish.
- In a small bowl, combine the breadcrumbs with the melted butter. Mix until the breadcrumbs are evenly coated.
- Add some more shredded cheddar cheese and sprinkle the breadcrumb mixture evenly over the top of the couscous and cheese.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the breadcrumbs are golden brown and the dish is heated through. You can set oven to broil on high for a couple minutes to get the top even more crispy, just make sure you are watching it carefully so that it does not burn.
- Remove from the oven and let it cool slightly before serving.
