Make sure to preheat air fryer at 350F for atleast 5 minutes.

Do not make these too large. Otherwise the dough will not fully cook.

Do not overcrowd the air fryer basket. They spread a bit.

These air Freyr bagels are so easy to make. With only three ingredients they come out perfectly doughy and crispy on the outside.

Ingredients

  • 2 small ripe bananas
  • 1 cup gluten free or regular self rising flour, more if too sticky. This depends on the size of the banana and how much mashed banana you will have.
  • 1/2 cup diced fresh strawberries
  • Avocado oil spray
Gluten Free Self Rising Flour
  • 1 cup gluten-free all purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Instructions

  1. To a bowl, add two small ripe bananas and mash them well with the backside of a fork or something similar.
  2. Then, add in the gluten-free self-rising flour. Mix the batter until crumbly, then transfer dough onto a floured surface, wet your hand a little and start to work the dough until flour and mashed bananas are all combined and you are able to make a smooth ball shape. It is important to know that the dough will be very sticky at first. Water or more flour on hands helps and make sure to flour the surface and the dough as needed.
  3. Form a ball shape, slightly flatten it and add fresh strawberries.
  4. Then, fold it again a few time to incorporate the berries into the dough.
  5. Make a smooth ball again and separate it into flour equal pieces. Roll each section of dough into a ball, then flatten it, make an open circle in the middle and form it into a bagel shape as best as you can. They don’t have to be perfect!
  6. Preheat air fryer to 350F for at least 5 minutes. Do not overcrowd the pan. Leave room between each bagel because they do get larger.
  7. Spray some avocado oil on top of each bagel and air fryer at 350F for 5 minutes or until golden brown.
  8. Once cooked, rest them for a few minutes, then slice horizontally and enjoy with cream cheese, jam, or your favorite spread.
