These soft, buttery thumbprint cookies are made with wholesome ingredients and are perfect for your holiday baking lineup! Fill them with your favorite jam or a little chocolate for a festive, healthier treat everyone will love.

Ingredients

  • 1.5 cups almond flour
  • Pinch of salt
  • 3 tbsp pure maple syrup
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 3 tbsp soft grass-fed butter (or vegan butter for a dairy-free option)
  • Jam of choice or chocolate for filling

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F and line a cookie sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together almond flour and a pinch of salt. Add in maple syrup, vanilla extract, and softened butter. Mix with a spatula until a soft dough forms.
  3. Scoop the dough into small balls and place them on the prepared cookie sheet. Use your finger to press an indent into the center of each ball without pressing all the way through. Fill the indent with jam.
  4. If you want to add chocolate to some of these, then make the indent and bake it without the chocolate. Add the chocolate once it is baked.
  5. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden (baking time may vary depending on cookie size).
  6. Allow cookies to cool slightly before enjoying!
